San Mateo County History Museum

The History Museum features interactive experiences where you can explore the county’s rich and colorful history.

Hours: Tuesday - Sunday, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

The History Museum will be closed on Thursday, November 26.

Admission: $6 adults, $4 seniors & students,
Free children 5 & under
The History Museum participates in these free and reduced admissions programs.

 

Archives

Research the county's past in the Archives through the books, photographs, maps, newspapers and records.

Open starting October 20, by appointment only.  Please review our COVID-19 protocols.

Sanchez Adobe

Visit one of the oldest buildings in the county, and get a glimpse of what life was like before the Gold Rush at the Sanchez Adobe.

Woodside Store

Encore Books on the Square

Browse the 30,000 used books at Encore Books to find great deals on both fiction and non-fiction books.

Encore Books is closed. The bookstore is operated by volunteers. As many of them are considered high-risk for COVID-19, the store does not currently have a scheduled reopening date.
