San Mateo County Through the Eyes of Grafton Tyler Brown (February 1 – June 25, 2023) in the Lower Rotunda features work by Grafton Tyler Brown, the first professional Black artist in California and the Pacific Northwest. As a lithographer working out of San Francisco in 1878, Brown produced 42 of the 72 lithographs in publishers Moore & DePue’s Illustrated History of San Mateo County. Twelve of the lithographs are on exhibit.
