DESCRIPTION:Union Cemetery\, Redwood City – Saturday\, July 11 from 10:00am-11:30am \nHistoric Union Cemetery Association Board members will lead a tour starting at the kiosk near the entrance at 330 Woodside Road\, Redwood City. The Historic Union Cemetery first opened in 1859 on a six-acre triangle of land just outside of downtown Redwood City. With a little over 2\,400 graves\, many contain San Mateo County founding families and pioneers. SUMMARY:Victorian Days Walking Tours: The Extraordinary Cow Palace
DESCRIPTION:The historic Cow Palace has been a gathering and entertainment hub since 1941. Its walls are steeped in agricultural\, entertainment\, and political history. Join us for its 85th anniversary open house and walk in the footsteps of Elvis\, the Beatles\, U2\, John F. Kennedy\, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.\, the Golden State Warriors\, the San Jose Sharks\, and the some of the most skilled cowboys and cowgirls the sport has ever known. \nThe tour will be on mostly flat surfaces with two short slopes. Four doorways may be too narrow for wheelchairs\, but the rooms can still be seen from outside the room. In 1939\, she commissioned renowned architects Bernard Maybeck and his associate Julia Morgan to collaborate in the design and building of a cemetery on her property.
